Good day to all,

I'm attempting to track down the history of this stamp dealer connected to the forgery of the Bolivian 1894 emission Scott# 40 to 46

I've found several advertisements from 1892 to 1911 but have trouble finding information after.

Does anyone have a photo of his expert/guarantee mark for instance?

Thank you,

E. Gainsborg started the small journal "L'Amateur des Timbres- Poste in the 1890's. Apparently later on, Maurice Lescut takes over the activities of the E. Gainsborg company, which stops trading postage stamps to deal with postcards and photographic prints, 40 rue du Paradis, in Paris, and continues the publication of the monthly journal: L'amateur de timbres-poste.

Thanks for the link to Rene's presentation.

Will keep looking for the dealer's mark, or actual scans of his publications:

- 1893 to 1906: publisher of L'Intermédiere de la Timbrologie
- 1898-1906: publisher of Amateur des Timbres-Poste
- 1912: published of Le Courrier du Collectionneur

Best regards,
