Please see the attached image. Is it out of the ordinary for the gum on a Washington-Franklin definitive to display a diagonal pattern of application? More to the point: would this pattern be evidence of a re-gum? The stamp in this image is oriented straight up: top to the "north," right side to the "east," etc.

While your image is very nice .... it isn't really fair to share only partial information with us when wanting a complete response.

Specifically, the W/F's were produced in flat, offset, and rotary - and in sheet, booklet and coil formats over a span of a decade and a half. Gum and gumming methods will differ. It is essential for us to have an image of the entire front and reverse sides - not only to know the Scott number of the stamp you are asking about, but also since you bring up the subject of regumming.
