Henry Hammelman, the pioneer FDC and FFC servicer and dealer, had his shop at 116 Nassau Street, the philatelic hub of New York City. He probably lost some flight covers in the 1937 Hindenburg tragedy but reacted by obtaining surviving Hindenburg crew member signatures on one of his 1936 Hindenburg flight covers.
