Hello I have this France stamp dated 1901 and has a postmark which says Timor P. PO. I did a little research and found out it is from a Portuguese colony and may be rare. But my only concern is the 2.5 mm tear on the stamp and the small tear on the bottom corner. Would a seasoned collector still get this stamp certified in this condition and does anybody know any history behind the postmark? Thanks.

It has more issues, such as missing and short perforations.

I very much doubt it is Timor. That O looks like the top of a B or P. I am not convinced it starts with a T either. The placement of "TIMOR" would leave quite some space for further letters. Also, Timor is an island, not a town.

It, very likely, is a French cancellation.

What you're seeing is probably part of "Imprimes" - newspaper stamp.

I think "IMPRIMES" fits.

I suppose this is where we wait for vayolene to chime in.

Yes the postmark does look like "imprimes" and the p.p. helps verify this. Thanks for responding.
