Hi - I have been gone a long time. Life, teens. I am still stamp collecting - but at a very slow pace. Still working on my Mexico Stamp Album. Fingers crossed that I won some new items at auction over this weekend. I hope all are amazing!!

Hola! so glad you are still here. I am so excited. Taking my Family on Vacation to London for the first time this summer. also, I am still working on my French Album which you helped me build when I first started. Missing the expert advice from this forum so am ready to come back. One of my boys is about to exit the nest soon - so fingers crossed I can focus again on my collecting.

Wow! Very very nice indeed. I collect too much, including many European countries in separate Scott Specialty albums, plus many African and Asian countries, but Latin America will be my next field of interest which I've procrastinated on for years. Mexico will be the first. I find their postal history and stamps very interesting and so different from many other stamps like those of the U.S.

Those pages are beautiful. Father Hidalgo sure got his face on a lot of stamps, didn't he?

One thing I do differently is to make alternate pages so I can spread out stamps from the early years a lot more than Scott does. I usually use Scott pages but substitute my own pages for the earliest stamps by using Bill Steiner's page layouts which I edit to change the font and improve on. Then I photocopy them onto Scott blank Specialty pages. This way the pages harmonize with the rest of the album.

I do this so I can reduce the number of stamps on a page, making them less busy. I make mabe two new pages for every one of Scott's. Less per page I find more appealing. After the classic era to about 1900 or so, I often go back to using Scott's own pages. But for a few albums, I've also done the whole album using my edited Steiner layouts. Doing that allows me to keep his identifying information for each stamp which Scott pages lack. This is especially nice if I don't know the country's history well or who or what their stamps are honoring. With Hidalgo, though, it might get a little repetitious!

Anyway, those are beautiful pages you have there!

Thank you! I actually use Steiner pages as well for all other countries except my US album which is in a Mystic Album. I do love the look of the Steiner Pages! Mexico is definitely an amazing, complex and fun country to collect. I bid on three very nice stamps this week and waiting to see if I won. I hope to share more, I've missed this forum very much. Here is an example of my Steiner Pages.
