jorgesurcl - Great additions and - moreover - pleasant memories: back in 1950, a classmate showed us his collection including Belgian Congo 50 c. brown Bow Hunter, which all of us admired. Could you identify its engraver?

Might I ask another favour of you? Would it be possible for you to edit your post of 10/23/2013, 10:23 pm adding an image of Costa Rica 1930, dated 1929, 10 c red, Columbus Soliciting Aid of Isabella, printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd., London, smaller in size, but same type as Costa Rica 1923, dated 1921, vignette engraved by Marcus W. Baldwin and printed by A.B.N.C.? Just for comparison with the other two engravings. Thank you for anything you can do.

I don't know that Belgian Congo stamp engraver, but I will find out.

Meanwhile I can show others...

3 stamps engraved by Pierre Munier (1889-1962) - Institute de Gravure - Paris
Printed by Atelier du Timbre, Malines, Belgium.

jorgesurcl - Thank you for adding the image of Costa Rica 1930 - Printed by Waterlow & Sons for comparison.

Belgian Congo: just wonderful: more and more stamp engravings rising from their anonymity through your research. Thank you very very much.

Regards,

Florian

jorgesurcl - Thank you very much for your most informative and inspirational posts in this thread. Much appreciated.

As for Marcus W. Baldwin's engravings, I was particularly impressed by "Columbus in front of the Council" on the EL SALVADOR 1894 Dos Pesos stamp. Thank you indeed.
