Below are a couple from Norway engraved by Knut Lokke-Sorensen
The two below were designed & engraved by Sverre Morken.
The quote is a Google Translation taken from Norwegian Wikipedia.
Quote: Sverre Morken (born April 19, 1945) grew up on a farm in Folldal with Rondane as its nearest neighbor. He moved to Nittedal in 1977.
He sailed for the Far East and Australia as a young man. Then he trained as a woodcarver and bokkunstfaget in Oslo.
In Norges Bank's Printing Works, he was a graphic artist since 1972, responsible for the design and engraving of the covers on the banknotes. For over 30 years he has engraved stamps for Norway.
When the image of the Norwegian coat of arms for public use should be reworked, it was the darkness that was responsible for the task. His design from 1992 is used today by the state government as the official image of the shield.
On 50-kroner note has he portrayed the storyteller Peter Christen Asbjornsen. We can see a glimpse of the water Ørfiske thus Nittedal in the background.
In several contexts has Morken taken motifs from Nittedal municipality. The stamps with country postman Roar Ramstad front space Mago north of the village and stone whales Roll Molander in the quarry at Gjelleråsen.
29. June 2004 was Sverre Morken presented to the King's Medal of Merit in gold. Sverre Morken received this honor for his work in art and design. His work on banknotes and stamps have been a significant contribution to the Norwegian banknotes and stamps have gained international recognition for its high artistic standards and often appear to be examples of aesthetic design.
Morken has over 30 years designed more than 150 stamps. This work has resulted in a number of international awards. Among other things, the Norwegian stamps have been voted the world's most beautiful. Sverre Morken won in 2003 a great honor for the stamps issued for the 100-year anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize. He was also awarded the "Award for Design Excellence" with Enzo Finger of the stamp issued for the celebration of His Majesty King Olav V's birth. Morken has made #8203;#8203;ten percent of all Norwegian stamps that have been released since 1855.
Morken has its own studio and gallery in North Atndalen.
Michel 707 - 708 1975
150 Years of Norwegian immigration to North America.
Henry Welde (1914-1991) was already introduced by nethryk on page 42.
Welde designed all three commemorating 50 years of the Svalbard Treaty which recogniced the full and absolute sovereignty of Norway over the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard ( Spitsbergen).
He engraved the 1K and 1.40K and Knut Lokke-Sorensen engraved the 1.25K
Really like that Letter box stamp from Belgium, fabulous stuff.
And Morken was a great engraver.
I wasn't able to start until today and got through 4 pages before my arm started hurting (must avoid tendinitis haha)! So many different engravers between pages 44 and 47. But at a rate of 4 per day, Anthony and I should 'meet up' in no time!
Andrew, I for one really appreciate all the work that you and Anthony are doing in making this list which will make it easy at a glance to see what has been posted.
Some great info added recently. Many thanks Nethryk for the info on the Russia item. I should be able to get a bit more of the index completed and Andrew has contacted me to assist
Here are images of six more fine stamps produced for Norway by Knut Løkke-Sørensen (1931- ), all stamps designed (except as noted) and engraved by Løkke-Sørensen.
