Hi,

I think this one is a misplaced WAR showing inside WAR.

Really nice.

I passed this onto Leopold Beaudet, the editor of The Admiral's Log, the journal of the Admiral Study Group (of the British North America Philatelic Society).

Leo is the leading expert on the Admiral stamps of Canada.

His reply:

Quote:
Very nice misplaced entry. Thanks for the note.

The stamp is Marler's design type 6 (Mark in A of TAX and break in the lower left vertical line between horizontal lines 4 and 10). Design type 6 stamps are from plates 11 to 16. Marler describes the following re-entry on 15UL28:

"Marks of a second entry in the three letters of 'WAR'"

He illustrates this re-entry in his 1982 book, p. 422.

Marler describes a similar re-entry on 14UL45:

"Marks of a second entry in the 'W' and 'R' of 'WAR', not to be confused with [the re-entry on 15UL28]."

I believe the misplaced entry posted on SCF is 15UL28.

Feel free to post the above notes.

A picture of this from the Marler book:

Hi Robin,

That is a book I try to find... Another one

Thank you both of you for that.

This one looks like the one described as 11UR22: Doubling of Vertival RNB and leaf for the G detail I do not know? But there is a top straight edge so...

And a tiny one over N of CANADA and also at base inside of the N.

Just finished to look at 700 MR1.

Found a second one like the previous post. They look from same position.
