I don't collect Washington-Franklins because they're too complicated for my tastes. But, I purchased a cover with a strip of 5 attached. My best guess is that they are #490. In the catalog listing I see a mention about "small holes". From the Siegel site I downloaded an image of 496a and overlaid it on my strip. Any thoughts if my strip could be 490a? Thanks.

The "tell" is not the hole size but rather the distance between the holes.

Some of the issues in determining small / large hole variations.

"If you take the image and magnify it, if the measurement between the perfs is less than that on the stamp, you may have a winner!"

This thread should be of interest. https://goscf.com/t/41100

Thank you for the responses, and this is why I stay away from W-F's.
