I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a specialty catalog for France, specifically FSAT and some colonies that list the imperforate stamps/sheets. I just purchased a large French/Monaco and colonies collection and there are several scattered about. (I'm seeing scattered imperforate stamps all over the place as I dig! It's a mess so I need something to help organize.

I bought this https://www.yvert.com/en/les-ouvrag...er-2025.html from Yvert when I first heard about it, and it's spectacular. It was a new edition in 2025.

Like a fool, I loaned it to a friend not long after, and now I'm afraid I may have to buy one again.

One vital question is what languages can you understand? I got a German Michel catalogue and even with a dictionary of German Philatelic words I found it difficult to use. When I was able to get an English language German stamp catalogue I rapidly ditched the Michel. Catalogues are no good if you can't read the wretched thing.

Maury's catalogues are the most complete. A few years ago, they were bought up by Spink, which produced annual volumes (only for France, not the Colonies). Spink's book business seems to have been sold, so Maury's status is once again uncertain. You should be able to find copies on ebay. Its older Colonies catalogues are harder to find.

Maury is more complete, but the volumes of Maury covering the French Empire have not been updated by Spink since they took over the Maury name, only the main France catalogue.

You can sometimes find the Maury French Colony volumes in the secondary market, but they are rather like's hen's teeth. I am still trying to find a copy of the 2014 edition of Maury's Timbres des Colonies d'Afrique (I have the 2006 edition but heavy use means it is falling apart, due to rather poor quality binding used by Dallay at the time they owned the Maury numbering).

That being said, the YT 2024 Colonies catalogue is a gem and every collector of French Colonies should really have it in their library (hardcopy or digital)
