Lalo, it's going to be near impossible to tell on this one, even if it were pink:

  • We (the SCF group in total) can't really see the real color on this stamp, because all of our monitors would have to be calibrated similarly

  • This stamp is faded. We've seen countless requests like this one over the years with faded stamps that make the stamp appear like it is more of a pastel-type color, rather than a rose or salmon.

  • Another problem is that one of the best ways to ID an 1861 as pink is on cover with a date sometime in 1861. With the stamp first issued in August of 1861, pink was found to be unstable so after the first printing, in August, some yellow/brown was added to pink to make the stamps rose, so very rarely, if ever, would we see a cover dated even in 1862 with a pink stamp. Anything in 1861 that looks like it could be pink-something, has a chance. If not 1861, that chance lessens exponentially.

Would like to be more help, but it's the best I can offer-- I've studied the shades of this issue for about 15 years now, and just wanted to let you know what the caveats are with this one.
Ray

Everything Ray said plus the 64's I have owned and seen tend to have a bluish cast to them which brings us back to the issue of colors and monitors/scanners etc.

Thanks for the information ,
I was hoping someone would of seen blue.
having never seen in person, it does not pop out to me.
When the stamp arrives, I will send it in to be certified.
I got it off HipStamp, through one of Momen's Stamp auctions.
They back all their stamps to be 100% as advertised,
so if it doesn't certify there is always that.
Soon as I get it in and back out and around I will post the results.
Thanks again guys
