Day one is over. Any reports on:

1. Attendance?
2. Dealers happy?
3. Problems?

Other comments?

Busy. I didn't hear any complaints from anyone about sales. The biggest complaint seemed to be that the booth numbers are a little small. And there were a pretty good number of young people, from kids to adults under 40.

I did see where a $12,000 cover on display had a sold sign by afternoon.

There is a Boston2026 Facebook group posting video and images of the show. It all seems to be as expected. Given the vastness of social media and discrimination algorithms used on feeds, like on Facebook one may never see much.

I made the mistake(?) of looking at movers and now flooded with moving related ads.

It's been busy generally. Rainy and chilly today. All the dealers I spoke with said yesterday was a very good day. The food prices are criminal. #128546;

The booth I was out wasn't empty until 5:45.

"Of course, it was the dealer's fault for having a failed booth security set up which encouraged the loss."

Victim's fault. Got it.

Security at the show has been fine, a steady but unobtrusive presence.

In Boston, yes. As well as some other cities too.

Boston is a town where the government (Mayor) apologizes to the criminal for their police action.

Folks, big case of sour grapes here. No need to put down the show and the host city like that, especially with unsubstantiated political claims that take things off topic. Let's focus on hearing from those who are actually here and have a clue.

Very robust business again today all over. Hopefully tomorrow will be nearly as busy given the holiday, and then it'll likely drop off for the rest of the week somewhat.

Also, very heartening to see the new collector's area absolutely jam-packed today. Glad to see those 3 million stamps donated to the Spellman going to good use. Another Boston TV station was interviewing collectors and taking B-roll of the newbie area this afternoon.

"Unsubstantiated political claims"

Report in press on March 3. 2025:

"The individual was trying to stab the two individuals in the store, and the off-duty officer identified himself as a police officer, instructing them to drop the weapon, at which point the individual did not comply," Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox said during the press conference.

"My condolences, and all of our thoughts, are with the family of the individual whose life has been lost," Wu said. "

Please note - "all of our thoughts are with the family of the individual . . ." Not all of our thoughts are with the two innocent potential victims of the person wielding the knife nor of the police officer who was forced to draw his weapon, which we can be sure he would rather have not done.

Mayor Wu said those words and never denied it. No need to distract from news about the Stamp Show, but also no need to try to misrepresent what actually happened, gvol21.

This has been mentioned twice in this thread. Can we get some examples?

High end Italian covers.

There is video surveillance footage, but the convention center won't release it to the victim, only to the police.

The usual convention center food and prices (as in bad and bad)
