Here is one that I think is interesting. It is part of a Russian set commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Battle of Perekop, fought between the Red and White armies during the Russian Civil War. It appears to show troop movements.

I enjoy viewing ALL the stamps in this thread shown by SCF members!

It is definitely difficult for me to pick a favorite, but I go with primos' Venice.

If I had a block of em, I'd frame them & hang them on the wall along with my other favorites!

Thanks again to all who take the time and interest to post these little pieces of art for all to see, not only here but throughout this wonderful stamp communities threads!

Singapore 2014 An ancient map of Singapura or Lion City, the Sanskrit name for the city state.

Nice Singapore map stamp. I hadn't looked nor realized before that Sigapore was an island(s) and an older city state. Wonderful to see.

Caprivi Strip



The Caprivi Strip is a narrow corridor of Namibia between Angola, Zambia and Botswana.
A German statesmen and soilder Leo von Caprivi negotiated in 1890 an boundary treaty with Great Britain
which provided a corridor from the German South West Africa (now Namibia) to Zambezi River.

Wikipedia says, "The postage stamps of Tannu Tuva form one of philately's curious byways, featuring quirky and colorful stamps, many of questionable validity, issued by an obscure country which held special fascination for young stamp collectors in the middle of the twentieth century." Here is an image of a stamp depicting a topographical map showing the route of the IOCOM (Indian Ocean Commonwealth) Submarine Telephone Cable, printed by photogravure, and issued by India on November 24, 1981 to commemorate the inauguration of this telecommunications link from Madras, India to Penang, Malaysia, Scott No. 948.

Algiers Metro



The Algiers Metro in the capital of Algeria was opened in 2011.
The first and only line is spanning 9.2 kilometres and has 10 stations.

Map showing the six political districts of Belize, and national coat of arms, printed by lithography, and issued by Belize on February 10, 1982 as one of a set of six stamps commemorating the country's independence in 1981 from Great Britain, Scott No. 595.

Map of Mars



Giovanni Virginio Schiaparelli (1835-1910) was an Italian astronomer and science historian.
He`s contributions are his telescopic observations of Mars.
He created a map of Mars with the "seas", "continents" and "canals" of Mars.
