Map of Cyprus, engraved and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., and issued for use in the British Crown Colony of Cyprus on February 1, 1928 as one of a set of ten stamps commemorating the 50th anniversary of British rule, Scott No. 116. Mythological note: The birth of the Greek goddess Aphrodite is depicted in the bottom left corner of the stamp.

Hello Fellow Stamp collectors :)

I found a couple of good examples of stamps with a map on it.
unfortunatly my scanner died on me so I made foto's...


This stamp from the Republic of Indonesia depicts Asia and Africa and was engraved and printed in rememberance of the African-Asian Student Conference of 1956.


In honor of the Asiatic Olympics in 1951, South Asia is depicted on this stamp from the Republic of Indonesia.


I can't tell you much about this stamp other then it is from Australia en depicts the globe and australia.

Map of Namibia, printed by lithography, and issued by Zambia on August 26, 1975 as one of a set of four similar stamps publicizing Namibia Day (a national public holiday commemorating the first day of the Namibian War of Independence, which began on August 26, 1966 at Omugulugwombashe), Scott No. 152.

Saint Martin - Sint Maarten



Does France and Netherlands have land border?
If your are searching for it in Europe continent, you will find Belgium between France and Nethelands.

But in the northeast Caribbean approximately 300 km east of Puerto Rico lies island Saint Martin.
It is divided between France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Dutch part Sint Maarten is one of four constituent countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The French part Collectivité de Saint-Martin is an overseas collectivity of France.

The 70th anniversary of the first line of Moscow metropolitan



In 1935 the first line of Moscow underground railway was opened.
It was 11 km long and had 13 stations. It was the first underground railway system in the Soviet Union.
Today the Moscow Metropolitan has 196 stations and its route length is 327.5 km.

I like to collect these type packets, they don't sell them anymore, company went out of business.I have about 20 or so different topics. Every time I see this map thread I want to post what I have so I did.

The area around the French town of Valréas is known as L'Enclave des Papes. Here is an image of a stamp depicting the long-lived Pope John XXII receiving homage, the pope's coat of arms, and a map of the Papal Enclave, designed by French artist André Spitz (1883-1977), engraved by René Cottet, and issued by France on May 5, 1968 to commemorate the 650th anniversary of the enclave, Scott No. 1215, Y&T No. 1562.

Here is an image of an airmail stamp entitled "Communications," featuring a map of Dakar, Senegal, airplanes and ships, designed and engraved by Pierre Gandon, and issued for use in French West Africa on March 15, 1958 as one of a set of six stamps commemorating the centenary of Dakar's founding, Scott No. C23. Bonus: Constellation.

West and East Pakistan



In 1947 India became independant. It was devided in two states: India and Pakistan.
Pakistan was consist of two Moslem areas one in the northwest and one in northeast parts of India.
It became a republic in 1956 and in 1971 East Pakistan broke away from Pakistan
and became an independent country, Bangladesh.
