1000th Anniversary of Lithuania (2006)

The map Magni Ducatus Lithuaniae Caeterarumque Regionum Illi Adjacentium.....drawn by Thomas Makovskis and engraved by Hessel Gerritsz was published in 1613. It shows Lithuania and parts of neighboring countries: Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia.... Map is now in the National Museum of Lithuania in Vilnius. |

João Batista Mascarenhas de Moraes (1883-1968) was the commander of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force in World War II during the Italian Campaign, 1944-1945.
