I like the look of all of these. They all have that rich colonial Spanish look to them. At least to me anyway :)

The two Colombian ones of the waterfalls are a Scott Type A160 from 1948, but, since they are overprints, they are Scott #C231 from 1953.

All the stamps are of minimal value, just nice to look at I think and al the cancels are fairly nice.

Thanks for posting these. Minimal catalog value or no, early Latin American look great in a stock book.

Here is your Chilean friend overprinted for air service (C11 1928):

This gentleman below figures big in 19th century Costa Rican issues (President Soto), here on a 10c issue from 1889 (#28 purchased MH for $0.13). The 50c issue #30 nearly broke the bank at $0.35.

I have a page of Ecuador as well and the early specimens are similar design. Early 20th century pieces are interesting too and I have a burgeoning collection of Dominican Airmails from the 1920s-40s...

Technically they are not Spaniards, that is, stamps from Spain. They are Chilean, Colombian and Portuguese stamps. Hmm. That Costa Rican stamp is a real looker.

smauggie, you are right, technically. I should have used the word "Latin" countries instead.
