George, this stamp is Great Britain #223 and Scott 2007 value is $180 (mint) and $100 (used). Daniel

Here is a magnified portion of the portrait. Will this be the earlier version? I don't have the cross lines on the actual stamp.

You're right George. I didn't pay attention to the small writings. Then it would be #174. But then it could be #174a i'm not sure if it's rose carmine or carmine even with the color gauge I have. Anyway it' a good value! I'm not very familiar with classical british and colonies stamps. I had a good practice when I bought a Zanzibar collection. Daniel

check the watermark to see if it is the single cipher

SG# 416 5s Rose red - 110 pounds sterling, +35% for blah, blah

figure out what color it is.
it is the earlier version. the horizontal lines match.

I see Stanley and Gibbons has more info than Scott. It's more specialized for Great Britain and Colonies.
