2010 is a big year for Stamps in the UK with many events taking place for much of the year.

Just a preview of a couple of items to come from Royal Mail. Something quite classical, nice items -to-be. I guess I will pick holes in them later, but for now I am impressed.

Even KGV would have approved.

Of course, you won't see many in the mail.
So let's call them GB 'sand dune' items !

For now, I'll agree that they're smokin'...

But in the time it has taken me to type this, I'm starting to wonder if the Downey head fits in just right?

Nevertheless, those are must haves. Thanks for sharing.

Trust you to like the borders !!
'Tis nice though, a slant on the UPU £1 stamp from 1929.

I agree. I don't like the Downey head issues and was thinking the same. Indeed, the British public at the time did not like the Downey Head issues hence the clamour for a replacement. They should have used the 'Ideal Stamp' for this sheet instead.
Pity.

I have had a few orders for these items and I have made a list.

But now I have good and bad news. and

The bad news is that I will not be ordering these sheets from Royal Mail, and I am sorry for that.

The good news is, I will be buying them from the Royal Mail stand at the exhibition.....'cos......

I'M GOING !

My wife just came out with it this morning....we were discussing other things and the subject cropped up and she said..."Why don't you go" !!

You could have knocked me down with a feather !

Anyway, booking flights tomorrow. Will be trying to arrange a meet with others so if anyone from SCF is going, especially UK members...let me know !
Anyone wanting any of the specials above or other items, let me know.
All at cost, I don't want to make any profits from you lot on new stuff.
All msent with love upon my return !

Yippeeeeeee!

Londonbus1.....I will even get to ride on a ...er...er...London Bus !

There is also a Prestige Stamp book being issued for the Exhibition.
It will have seperate panes of the Seahorses and Wembley issues, along with pane/s of Machins.
It sounds good.
Here is the cover....does it ring any bells ??

I already have three nods for a meet in London in May. All from different groups and nations.
It looks like it might be an interesting get together with the promise of further collectors joining in once Stampex is over.

Maybe we can have a banquet !

I am sure we can get at least one other SCF member to attend...there are one or two Brits here after all.

Preceeding the Big International Exhibition [may 8-15] is Philatex Extra [May 5-6]. This is mainly a dealers bourse but is massive and well visited. Usually held alongside Stampex but at a different venue, it is attended by dealers from all over the world, many of whom will move on to the bigger show after the bourse ends.

The best part for me is that this show is at The Horticultural Halls in Victoria, the ex-venue of Stampex and my favourite Stamp venue in the UK. I have not been to show there for almost 20 years and am looking forward to seeing it again.
