I agree with Modern and khj that the title is misleading.

I have learned to catch myself after I realized, reading and re=reading through one similar to that years ago, that it was a ploy to attract buyers.

The human brain reads 50,000 stamps first and suddenly, almost without your knowing it, the chemicals in the brain / body kick in and you get a little thrill similar to lottos or large sums of money or even some drugs.

The way around this is to think long term, not short term. That is usually not what a human does unfortunately, so, even if you are used to this kind of tactic and can read it and then kind of stand back and consider it before acting, that brain / body chemical kick is still there and you have to resist it somehow.

Learning to think that following a long term goal is the better way and doing that time and again to kind of create a habit is a good way to help instill in yourself a measure of protection against such behavior.

But, for me, if it a Laura Secord ice cream cone of old fashioned vanilla, then all bets are off.

As someone who has experience in doing editing by speed/pitch manipulation to get something to fit in the alloted time, I found it really amusing.

Kim, do you also find it amusing how some of them -- possibly the worst of them -- deliver their deadly disclaimer in a calm, pleasant, upbeat, almost hypnotic tone as if there was nothing wrong with this picture, as if hoping to put you to sleep with their message rather than allowing you to hear it for what it really is.

Pretty clear to me, it says each lot is 200 stamps, 5 is 1000 etc.. no Tom Foolery on the sellers part in my opinion.

Don't you just love all the drug ads that tell you how wonderful they are, but having to comply with full disclosure end by telling you they can seriously harm you or even kill you.

Or give you "the condition known as hot dog fingers". ha ha ha

That's why they aren't funny any more. It was funny when you couldn't really understand what they were saying, only that they were trying to finish it in 3 seconds.

to all who responded, and particularly Modern_who, I agree that I should have been more observant and read the complete listing. Valuable lesson learned. Thanks all.
