This is way overdue -- a summertime postcard from Londonbus.

And the stamp used to frank it:

I'm sure I'm not the only person here who received one, but I wanted to offer a public "Thanks" to our friend Michael

You are welcome Kirk.
I did send quite a number to friends and collector buddies, but not all arrived, sadly.

The Postcard above is one of a set of 6 issued on May 7th to coincide with both the issue of the KGV and the GPO Book and the Opening of the GeorgeV Empire mails Exhibition at the Guildhall in London. It was a huge experience to visit this Exhibition on the opening day when products were also on special offer.

The first two shown above are the unissued 2d Tyrian Plum and a Valentines Day Greetings telegram from 1936.

The top card above [Kirks], shows Harold Nelson's unaccepted design for the 1924 Wembley issue, although it was used as the basis for the £1 UPU stamp 5 years later.
Below is the approved design shown to the King on February 19, 1924. A few amendments were carried out before final decisions were made. Can you spot them ?

The final two cards in the set show Posters advertising the first British Scheduled airmail service and an unaccepted design for the Post Office Tube Railway.

I think they are a very special set, and all with a KGV connection.
