This must have been one tremendous parcel to require a block of $5.00 postage dues.

($20.00 was an awful lot of money for postage in the 1950's or 1960's when these stamps would have been used, that it surprises me the post office would have even gone through the trouble to deliver the parcel if it was that short of postage.)

$5 Postage Dues were most often used to pay the fees on "Reply Mail". The type of envelopes that you used to get with your bills marked with "Postage will be paid by Recipient" or "Business Reply Mail"

Might this system also have been used when customers returned parcels purchased through major mail order outlets?
