My album has a notation that I assume is in German...

Quote:
Gez. dreisetig

Can someone tell me what it means in English?

Since no one responded to your question, let me take a shot:

I searched the internet for German to English translations and found:

Gez. = Signed

dreißig = Thirty

(The word "dreisetig" as you spelled it comes up empty.)

Spelled with a German "Set"(ß) it would be "gez. Dreißig" = "Signed Thirty"

You have a misspelling on the last word, missing one of the "i"s. "Gezähnt dreiseitig" = "perforated on three sides".

The above emails illustrate very well a difficulty I've been experiencing for years with the Michel Specialised German Catalogue. I'm glad I'm not alone in getting the German to English translations a little skewed. I'm also very pleased that I'm now part of a community where I can ask questions and get answers. Thanks for the post and all the replies.

Thanks everyone. You're correct Ryan, I forgot an I --- sorry about that.

I did try Google and got nothing in return; now I know why

Also Ryan, the notation was for stamps on a page for booklet stamps; so perf on 3 sides makes perfect sense now.
