How do you determine the catalogue value of an unused stamp? A stamp that has not been used, but for some reason it no longer has its gum.

Stamps overprinted "Specimen" are not in the Scott's catalogue. How do you determine their value? This stamp has a catalogue value of $70.00 mint and $20.00 used. This stamp is unused (has no gum). How should it be valued.

Very carefully. It would depend on how many specimens were made, how many survive and how desireable the specimen is to collectors.

You might try and look for a catalog that does list the approx value - maybe a local catalog or a specimen specific catalog.
