Don't bid on ebay lots at 2:00 in the morning when you can't sleep and aren't reading the description properly. I've put the high bid on a collection of Portugal thinking I would use them to jump start my new Portugal/Spain collection. Everything was fine until I noticed the 'Col' in the description. As they now say in football - "Upon further review . . . ." I'm not going to collect the colonies! maybe someone will want them enough to save me at the last minute.

I now have a Minkus Spain and Colonies specialty album with pages from 1850-1984. The colonies provide a break from the hard core country collecting. |

When you have time to bid on a collection and it's late at night you better wait the morning after. It's the same when you buy from a dealer on the internet. One time late at night and quit motivated I almost bought a 1000 euro collection of Austria I have seen before. I bought from this dealer before and had the feeling I can trust him without looking at the pics. also I would have to make some move in my budget after paying that amount. The morning after the hunger was gone for this collection. If you win the collection and don't need it you can always put it to auction with a decent reserve on SCF. We never know. Anyway nothing is lost! Daniel |

If it happens again, ebay does allow for legitimate bidding mistakes to be retracted. I've had it done a couple of times on items I was selling. By staying in, you might have done the seller the favor of realizing a higher price for the lot. |

larry - I've only done that once in all these years. One finger went nuts and added too many 1's when bidding and another hit enter before my brain engaged. |

I just won a Liberty album.. new.. I really want the binder, not the pages.... but I also have bids on several hingeless albums, I sure I hope I don't get them all.. The problem of bidding on several of the same things at once.. you might get them all. |
