Today I had my first philately conversation with a SCF member over the phone. It was none other than the legendary K. We discussed stamp conservation in a tropical environment where K is an expert

Here are the takeaway (mine not K's he already knows everything on conservation and then some)

Do NOT use stock book use philateic sleeves
Aim for a humidity level of 60%
Use dehumidifiers silica gel etc

ok if anyone else has any questions ont his topic let me know

also for a limited time if anyone is interested in speaking to me let me know and perhaps we can work out a telephone call. Cant promise anything because of the difference in time zones ( north amaerica is a breeze I dont know about australia but I will give it my best shot)

Would love to actually speak to a few people on here who are very high on the buddy list but whom I have never met/spoken to

and BC you are a very dear friend but I cannot send you turtles from india we will both go to jail for that and it wont even be the same prison

I agree with Spock meeting friends in person for the first time is such a thrill! its like the feeling you got the day you took the training wheels off your first bike.

In my job I get to travel (Fly) for free, and international for just the taxes so I've had some fun times meeting up with old friends I had lost contact with over the years.

BTW, why would you go to jail for mailing turtle stamps?

I believe they were speaking of mailing turtles, not stamps.

Awww, Isn't that sweet. The first word the turtle said was "MaMa". Spock, you've bonded.

I'm liking the "spock talk" but ... then again we might encounter Romulans or tribbles and is there inter-galactic postage?
