stampvirgin, doesn't it feel good to finally have some of the early classics, that presumably you have wished for for a long time. They are so soul-satisfying. |

well the #1 is coming back from the expertizer.. he says it is the normal 5c brown, he also said it had some faults... so I am returning it to the seller.. I am sure the seller will take it back... since they didn't list any faults in their description. |

that's depressing espically after all the work, to find buy receive and then send it off to get ID. about a month ago you sent one off to get id (the one with the GRILL question) I cant find the topic I was wondering what the result was? |

edwin... my first send off... it ended up being the normal 114. After it came back,I soaked the tape off and could then see a faint impression of a grill. It was an expensive way to learn. |

I just noticed your comments. Most 5c 47s aren't on especially thin paper. Shame about the faults, otoh it was cheap. |

Did you try testing the stamp with watermark fluid? It does a good job of showing up thins and anomalies. |

no I did not. I have already spoken to GP via phone.. they are taking it back and have two stamps with certs that they will email me images of.. one is a #1a for 425.00 and the other is a #1b for $325.00 He is giving me a heavily discounted price because of the one they previously sold me had faults. these two are not supposed to have any faults.. I am probably getting them at cost or just above cost. |
