Some of the Indian States that I collect can be quite hard to find used. I'd far prefer many of them used, and even better on cover.

And as for used definitives, well, I did start this thread https://goscf.com/t/8289&whichpage=...in,george,VI on used definitives - or mostly used, anyway And I just added this definitive cover from Charkhari the other day, and I love it

Hello

Thanks for all the answers.

I venture to launch a conclusion. Each person collects what he likes, regardless of new or used, commemorative or definitive.

Sorry to have woken up to the troops, when there was no battle.

It's great how varied our interest are - one person's reject is another's treasure.

U&nfortunately (perhaps!) for me, my collecting interests have grown rather than shrunk. Quite early on I kicked the desire to have anything "complete": too expensive, too frustrating, and - worst of all - when a collection is complete what's the use? Done and dusted and dead . . .

So I moved from countries to topics, started just with animal kingdom stamps, then flowers, then art, and it all just grew and grew - from 3 albums to about 30 (and still getting more 'n more), with pages and pages of the classics (machins, 19th century etc) and more and more topics (so I've just started one on places of worship, with churches, mosques, temples and so on) - somehow the more I see & have, the wider my interest get and the more enjoyment I get out of picking up a new batch of stamps.
