I don't know if either of these examples have much value, but I just came across these two precancels from Chicago and would categorize them as oddities.

The first one (1 cent) is a double strick invert precancel; the second one (2 cent) looks as if it slipped during the printing process.

If anyone has any other information on these varieties, I would be most interested.

Thanks.

These are double strikes. This was a very popular way to collect these stamps. These varieties are well documented in older catalogs. There are triple & quad strikes out there too.

Here is a snippet of my 1919 rotary press precancels collection - doubles and triples are hard to find.

I have one with a similar "slippage" problem.
