Sorry, but I do not see any perforation error.

On the top, the pins were probably a little worn, so some of the perforation "holes" remain attached.

There is a narrow selvage on the right side.

If you were referring to something else, please post again and point out which perforation.

If it is the top perfs that you are asking about? then could you please do a scan or photo of just the top edge? Do not zoom this scan in but do a new one and crop (cut around) just the top part of the stamp.

Can you darken the shadows on the scan also to better see the perfs against the whitish paper?

Currently, all I see are something akin to blind perfs. The holes are punched but the round paper bits are still attached or partially attached -- kinda' like the hanging "chads" of the Florida election.

I can see still attached -- at least 4 paper holes on the left, 6 at top, and 7 at the right.

If that is what you are asking about, it is not an uncommon occurrence for stamps of that era.

Thanks khj, yes that was it. It was my eyes (not so good) and my monitor (wortse). I darkened the contrast on my monitor and then used the magnifier and then I could see the unpunched perfs on the upper edge left.

Before it looked like a straight edge across the top and only some holes punched on the right.

Sigh, time for a break from the monitor.

Good eye!
