Nice one.

I have a number of similar covers from this era (i.e. registered mail from legal firms, etc.) and they all have used a similar format (i.e. the same double "O" cancel on the face with the date cancel used to seal the reverse flap to detect if it were being tampered with.)

Personally, I dislike those double "O" cancels because you have no date or town to connect with the postally used item unless you show the reverse side of the cover as well. There was a post in SCF awhile ago suggesting that some of the high value Prexie issues on cover are difficult to find. Yours is a perfect example, they certainly do exist, it's just that they rarely are tied to a cover with a date stamp postmark.

sorry Fred, that is such a nice cover,
it is/was a shame to hide it.

We shall forgive you, we won't send you
to 8 hours of self stick stamp soaking

I am a collector of "pointing fingers" or
"auxilliary markings" and your first scan was so
poor I couldn't make it out.

Thanks for posting
