Hi to all

This is the same stamp, yet the one on the left is practically devoid of the pink colouring. I have another which is a perfin and the same colour as the one on the right.
Any suggestions.
Regards,
Horamakhet

I'd say the stamp on the left wasn't printed that colour, the colour has just been lost due to something that's happened to it since it left the post office. Who knows what it might have been?

I cannot assist with the stamp but would like to suggest that you update the title of this thread to something a bit more descriptive e.g. QEII Wilding 6p colour change/fade/differences.

QEII Wilding 6d would be even more accurate.

"GB QEII Wilding 6d" would be even better.

Sometimes sunlight exposure will leech colours from stamps. Not sure if the inks used on this issue would be susceptible to this though.

Have you washed the stamp in water to see if that cleans it up any?

Hi
I have washed the stamp in water. It remains the same. These stamps are part of a family accumulation that has been hidden away in albums and tins for about thirty odd years.

If the sunlight is a factor, the stamp still could have been exposed before being placed in the tin.

I do not know these stamps that well, just guessing. Some inks are affected differently by sunlight or even being in certain atmospheres that contain different amounts of trace chemicals.

Or the ink could be a different batch and this a different printing then.

Perhaps someone used soap or bleach in low concentrations to try to clean up the stamp.

Oh, to change a title of a thread, just edit the first post in the thread. If you wish to that is.

To get a stamp "variety"
the example would have to be assessed as the occurence
to have happened during production.
Most of the rest is attributable to "stamp abuse"

My guess is yours has been exposed to too much light,
a good example for all collectors to keep their collections in the dark

Light will eventually fade all stamps.

I was just meandering through my 45c Australians,

and the Masked Woodswallow may help to illustrate
how light can disolve the pink.....
