I am excited to read that some of next years issues will be Mark Twain, Kansas statehood anniversary, Pixar Animation studios (multi issue hopefully), Indy 500, etc.

I am most excited about the Pixar issue because I am hoping to see a CARS movie stamp. Then I could have another stamp and covers to add to my Route 66 topical collection. It would be really cool if they have the residents from Radiator Springs depicted. My favorites are Fillmore and Mater, but in truth I like them all.

For the Kansas issue I would love to be able to get a First Day cover serviced in Galena, Baxter Springs, and Riverton Kansas- the only towns found along the 13.2 mile stretch of Route 66 in KS.

The Mark Twain stamp will have its ceremony in Hannibal MO which is within a 2 hour driving distance from me. Plus I really like the historic town and caverns.

Aw, shucks. Thanks Butch.

I forgot to mention Ronald Reagan and Gregory Peck will also be honored.

I don't have kids or grandkids ;-) but a friend of mine has a grandson that LOVES the Cars movie. After hearing him talk about it for what seems like years, I finally watched it. I have to admit, it's very well done. I actually enjoyed it. Of course, if you think about it, the most successful animated films are the ones that work on both an adult and child level. I'm not sure which level I'm on ...

Kirk,
My son loves CARS as well. In my Route 66 travels I've met the inspiration for Fillmore (artist Bob Waldmire and his VW Micro Bus), Mater (Dean Walker whom can turn his feet backwards and the actual Tow Truck in Kansas the character is based on), and the voice of Sheriff (Michael Wallis- Route 66 Author).
