Hi Everyone,

I recently discovered link between a book & a stamped cover w/letter.

This is the front cover of the book:

This is the inscription w/signature inside the book:

This is the stamped cover:

and this is the letter:

The authors note & signature is addressed to my Great Aunt Harriet (Maiden name Lumm - Married name Kruse).

The stamped cover and letter is the Author's response to the news that my Great Aunt was retiring.

Just wanted to share. Whats even better still is that as I flipped through this book I found several links/history relating to many of my stamped covers!!

Lucky

Thank you Puzzler. By the way, please let me know if you collect Canadian Covers. I have a hand full that I would love if they went to a home where they would be cared for and preserved.

Thank you for the offer.

I myself am only collecting the 2004 Picture Postage personalized stamps and covers and everything at the moment.

I say this but I seem to have lots of other stuff here all the time. The elves! It's the elves I tell you.

Depending on what they are and all that I could take them to the Stamp Club and put them in a charity auction or ask around to see what people collect. You could do that also I suppose.

What are they by the way? Curiousity killed the cat!

I have two comments:

1. Interesting title for a book. Who was invited and who was conquered?
2. Wasn't it nice of him to point out your Great Aunt's life expectancy?

Seriously, that's a very interesting piece of family history. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I should start a new thread & show the Ooodles of pictures from the early 1900's relating to Christmas Seals.
