I don't like the mounts of old, but I do understand why they used them and accept them. However, the writing on old stamps, and worse, the ink stamping of them, is just plain bad. They should have known better.
For me, a stamp with something like that give an antique look and I like it.
I like stamp with something "special" on. Perfect stamp are beautiful but they are normally too common. Stamp with special cancel or a variety stamp is for me the best. It give a unique style to the stamp.
