i understand that there are vast amounts of these stamps with different varieties.
all this info is greatly appreciated.
even with the lower value of this stamp I still had a great value.
if I remember correctly I paid about $1 for the stamp about 20 years ago.

Lonedan, Your stamp is also a weak transfer in right triangle. If you look closely at it you will see that the shading lines are present but much thinner and lighter than on normal stamps. Scott only distinguishes the right triangle without shading as a variety but your example nicely shows the weak transfer.

i have noticed that.
i looked in scotts and did see but if I remember correctly it was not on a type iv

Scott does not list all the known varieties nor the tremendous number of plate flaws. If they did so, the catalog would probably be at least 2-3 times as thick and extremely unworkable.

Of course, if Amos or someone could get a good and affordable online/software catalog/reference for all the known varieties... wishful thinking.

i was wrong I see that it was a 279B with right triangle shading is a type iv.
i stand corrected
