Is it common?

Interesting cancel. I've been through a lot of Philadelphia postmarks from that time period and that one is new to me. I can tell from the left section of the postmark (on the cover) that it was made on a type of a Barry canceling machine.

I agree with battlestamps, it is a machine cancel from a Barry H-series machine. This postmark was applied at the main office as none of the sub-stations had Barry machines. My database does not list this cancel though so I cannot trace it to the specific machine.
