Hi there,
I have been wanting to start a thread on the Downey Head Issue, but like some of the other posters I have been hesitant to contribute to the wrong category. Is there a Section for British Stamps that I have missed, or is it grouped in with Worldwide?
I apologize in advance for this seemingly trivial question, but look forward to an answer so I can get busy!
Have a Good one, should be able to fill a couple pages on it pretty quick!
Have a Good One,

Worldwide Classic would be the spot for all things KGV.
Looking forward to it. |

and Hi Skilo54! Really like your KGV 1d red. There is a cattle station in Queensland Australia that is larger than the United Kingdom. KGV. |

Hi Skilo54. The perfect centering of my avatar is a total give a way that it is a fake. John |

A large welcome to all our new UK members, Rod from the penal colony here. Just to let you know, if you have a squared circle postmark from Yorkshire, I'm the go-to man (Shh! I just need an excuse to use this compendium, just once!) |

Crikey, hang about a bit Jeff, I am no teacher, just a guy with a catalogue the fella that did all the work is Mr. Don Walton.
Anyhows the top stamp is a type 2D Leeds squared circle outside the latest known use of 8th Feb 1901 (That's if I am reading it correctly "A" in each bottom corner)
The other is west kensington London outside the scope of my compendium.
"Y" could be July or May

Rod, when you say outside the latest known use do you mean beyond the scope of the catalog or actually later than anyone knew the device had been used? And since you have the catalog and I need the knowledge, you end up with only two choices, get out of Dodge or teach. Plus I needed a slight correction with the Y in May or July (and I thank you). Since you are doing a fine job of the latter, I would stick with it. |
