Need Help Italy? Stamp?

Here is a real stumper for me. I think I might even put it down as a Cinderella. It appears Italian, or maybe San Marino as I can make out the word Marino on the inside belt, but the language appears French (which may not be unusual for San Marino). The paper is almost thinner than rice paper and I have never been able to find any reference to this thing. It is almost the king of my "what the heck is this" stamp book. Can anyone help?

Is there any chance that the center is applied separately to the larger piece? Or is it printed in two colors?

Nope, one piece really really thin stamp and yes bicolored.

This listing was in a French mail sale last year. The denomination is Euros...

From what we have, we can see the three towers of Monte Titano
(Mount Titan's three fortresses) so you are probably
correct in your assumption that it is from San Marino,
as this would appear as its Coat of Arms.

The next we have "negotient"
A negotient was an intermediary trader in the promotion
of bulk wines.
San Marino has a major agricultural history in Winemaking.

It looks like it maybe a parcel stamp for the relaying of
wine produce from San Marino to Florence.
But Its all guesswork
I cannot locate any "Emilio Neri" the main player in the label.

It looks as though it's an advertising label for a stamp dealer, Emilio Neri of Florence.

The picture in the middle appears to be a reproduction of San Marino SG 3, 3a or 20.

The stamp says: Emilio Neri / Stamps for collecting / Florence.

The quote says: Porte-timbre of Emilio Neri - Stamp Dealer in Florence.

A porte-timbre is usually an advertising label with a place for a stamp to be applied in the middle. They were all the rage in France at the start of the last century. Here's an interesting article I found just now:

This label seems to be acting much the same as an advertisement although apparently it only has a picture of the San Marino stamp rather than than one stuck on.

It's a pity we can't delete a posting even if only for a minute or two after posting it.

I'm fluent in menu French, and it just about stops there. I was thinking about that auction listing, and didn't identify the "TP" as stamps. Like Rod, I was thinking about negociant in the wine context. The fact that "Florence" wasn't in Italian was also disturbing.

all good ideas, sounds like we have a stamp dealer advertisement but I will try and make a cleaner scan. the arms of san marino in the scan on the right that you made Rod looks like the center portion of the stamp. will send a better scan in a minute. thanks to all.I hope this image is a little better

Here's a little trick... I copied your last scan into Adobe and then let the file "auto color correct." While it may not be "correct" I found the extra definition makes it easier to look at.
