I can definitely rule out 85 & 841. The ruling for 263 dictates 2.5 mm condensed block caps between lines 8 mm apart. This one has 2 mm caps between lines 9 mm apart. Perhaps a possible new L listing?
This is definitely the PSS-263 - mine is also 9mm. I am sending the report into the catalog editor to see if the specification should be re-worded. The other two 263's from MO are both 8mm spacing [LEE'S SUMMIT and SPRINGFIELD].
Looks like we found another loophole in the PSS catalog. The editors will be editing up a change in the next edition. This is the PSS-263. Thanks for another useful question.
The "official" changes to the PSS T&T catalog get published for review in the PSS Forum on a periodic basis prior to the release of the new edition. The next edition will be the 8th, possibly in 2012. I believe 3 updates have been published which cover alphabetically through New Mexico. If you are a member, you can access these reports online. There's been about 30 pages of 'stuff' so far. It would be unwieldy to post everything here - and there might be copyright issues. I recommend everybody join the PSS - I can provide info how and a reference.
