This is my second post so far and as new to stamp collecting I am interested in the opinion of seniors. Please look at the scans you will see that second set (red Washington)has perforations that read "ASM" (check the smaller scan on the right top for that perforation) Wanted to know if there is more value to the double stamp set?
Thank you

If I understand your question, you are asking "Should I keep the stamps together?" The answer is almost invariable yes. Multiples almost always are more valuable that singles. There are exceptions of course. If I misunderstood your question, "Pay not attention to that man behind the curtain!".

The 2¢ Stamp pair has what is call perfins, or perforated initials. These were done by companies to reduce theft of Stamps and depending who you talk to, they decrease the value of a Stamp. On the other hand, there are groups that extensively collect these. Also depending who you talk to, dealers will break up blocks and sets as they say stamps are more valuable as singles.
