Here is someone's rather large business card, with what appears to be his actual signature. Don't think he is still in business. It is pasted over onto a card from the ?? Commemorative Stamp Club, ??? Michigan Stamp Club and more writing undeneath. The second picture tries to show the writing underneath, the card is not that dirty.

This is the outside advertising of an "Elbe Stamp Wallet" where an approval card is affixed to one side of the folder and a perf gauge to the other:

That's a great piece. I love the Top Ten reasons to invest in Philippine Clippers. Number 10 mentions the huge appreciation in value for the Von Gronau set. I've posted a few of those before, and recently completed the set. Thankfully, the "1000% increase" eventually leveled off. (Actually, now that I have them, the rapid increase could start up again...probably won't happen.) The P.I.-U.S. overprints are neat, too. I think I put one of those in the airmail thread.

Relatively speaking, a more modern piece (1964) advertising NJ Tercentenary covers being produced for the stamp issued on 06/15/1964 and also advertising the Elizabeth (NJ) Stamp Club.

Seems to me that someone must have had either an overstock of stamps or cards and decided to apply a first day cancel to the advertising piece.
