I have a bunch of cut squares that I have kept because of rather unusual or interesting postmarks, of which this is one:

I've been struggling to figure out the town name as the name "LAOKAWAOK" means nothing either in post office records or for the State of New York. Finally, I figured out that the "O"'s in the town name are overinked "C"'s, therefore the correct town is "LACKAWACK" (I think).
In looking into "Lackawack, NY" I understand it is a discontinued post office that was in operation from 1838-1958. Further, it is/was a "relocated" town as identified by this marker:

Based on the fact that the cut square shown is dated December 1937, I assume it must be an early postmark from the town after it was relocated. Does anyone know for sure? Or does anyone have any further history of the town or its relocation?
In any event, I find it to be an interesting piece of postal history.
