SCF Query.

The last day or so,
when I log off, all my read topics
turn back to blue again?
Meaning I cannot tell where I am with
responding / reading posts.

Anyone else notice this?

Rod, I have been having a heck of a time, keeping up with what I read and not. Can you tell me what you are talking about with topics turning blue?? Thanks - Jeff

Sure Jeff,
I always click "last 100 active"
when, after I have read that post, the title turns mauve,
if a new response comes in after I have read it
it turns blue again.
You can keep a watch and monitor the threads
as they come in.

Now, however, when I log off, then on again
all threads are back to blue, and I open threads I have
already read.
In other words, one's "read" topics do not maintain
their status to the reader, they revert back to all "unread"

I did not know that. I will try it and see what happens, but it sure would be nice to be able to do that.

Rod - went to the last 100 like you said. Noticed the different colors (for once) and checked out your Vietnam thread. Restarted my machind and went to the last 100 again and the ones I had read were still a different color. So I am thinking something is going on at your end, but thanks for the new piece of information. I hope you get it cleared up, because you are right, it sure is useful. - Jeff

I use the 'active' button which tracks my Last viewed time pretty well so I only see threads that have been updated since my last visit.
When it does go wrong it is usually that I have been signed out.
This doesn't work at all well from my phone though.

First Question -- have you made any changes to your web browser? This includes updating to a newer version, or anything that would have cleared your browser cache -- such as cleaning/deleting temporary files, etc.

The COLOR of the links is a function of your browser. The LINK color is usually bright blue. Once you click, it is called VLINK (V for visited) and usually turns to the purple color. There are a few other colors like red when you hover on the link, etc.

All browsers have some method for clearing your cache of visited pages. In Firefox, you can do it (accidentally) by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+DEL. Some utilities like CCleaner will delete your history when they clean up temporary files.

I was thinking it might be the browser's Cookies also. If you had erased cookies or have the browser erase them when you sign off.

Not sure though.

If you have had a power interruption and your browser hasn't had a chance to save your histor when closing then that may do it also.

I recently changed my "Glary Utilities" to load on start
up to manage my memory.
My scanner was often jamming when scanning 40 stamps at
600dpi, causing a reboot,
this memory manager may be clearing cache.
Bravo boys! I'll kick it in the butt.

I had "delete browsing history on exit"
in my browser settings..that may be the culprit.

I changed my colors to chartreuse and lilac pink.
