I was going through my grandfathers estate and found these stamps in a Bible. I cannot for the life of me figure out what type or plate or position (or whatever) these are. I started looking and found that, even for pros, identification is not always simple. So I will post the photos and hope to get any of your professional opinions. I found 8 of them but here is the first one. If this is an inappropriate way of doing this I can change to how you want to see the other scans.

This stamp is Plate 1 late, it does not appear to be a key position (double transfer, invert transfer or crack). It does appear to have a second recut on the bottom but it is difficult to tell will the bottom cut so closely. With this issue it is common to have portions of the design cut away. If there are no creases of thins then I would think that yoou have a pretty nice copy. The postmark is minimal and non-obstructive. Nice find I hope the rest of the stamps are also as nice.

alaska, since there are 8 stamps I would create a post for each. With that many stamps being looked at in one thread the comments may be hard to track.
I feel that the stamp posted is recut onec ob top and once on bottom which would be one of 113 positions on the plate. Since 28 of these positions are double transfers that leaves 85 posible positions. I hop this info helps.

Thanks Russ, that is a huge help considering this stamp I was certain was the easiest to ID and I though for sure it was a Type II #7. I'm glad I found this site!
