Another pair! Are pairs basically double the same stamp or can a pair have one stamp be more valuable than the other one.

I`m not an expert in US stamps and in evaluating stamps in general, but in my opinion a pair should remain a pair, and even if one could (?-I really don`t know) have less value (due to damage, faults or anything else) it raises the others value- here for example in identifyng the cancellation, I guess.

Wadmalatz, you are definitely right they have better value as a pair than as 2 singles.

Out of the 6 specimens below, which is the nicest, but also which is the most valuable or worth trying to sell. I'd probably like to keep the nicest item and sell the rest. For some reason I think I am going to keep the imperf pair. It looks to me like the one Type III #7 goes for about 20% less than the Type IV #9's.
#9's and about 30-40 for the #24's.

The Scott 9 pair is the highest value. Don't confuse cat value with fair market value. The fair market value is $50-125. The Scott 24 with red carrier cancel F.M. $20-40, Scott 7 F.M. $25-55, Scott 9 single $25-60, Scott 24 pair $30-45. The fair market value is what you can expect to sale for.

Puzzler, the picture is at the top of each post, but if you can't see it maybe you are having problems with downloading the .jpg or it is timing out for some other reason.
