Hi to all

I know I posted this before and got lots of good feedback, but there has been an interesting development.
I purchased copies of both types of swamp daisy, lick em stick em and adhesives. (See attached Photos)They are totally different to the one that I think has missing colour.
I showed the stamp to the dealer at the same time and he had a look through his stock and could find none similar to the missing colour version. In his opinion he says I have a stamp that is definately missing a colour and to seek some expert advice. I showed another Melbourne dealer and he said he can not explain it either, and it is in his opinion also a missing colour example.
I will see if I can find out anything else and keep everyone posted on the developments.
Regards,
Horamakhet

It might be light damage. That is the only thing that occurs to me. Lovely flower.

Hi smauggie

The dealers had a very close look, and they did not think it was light damage, but that does not rule it out.
I have about twenty other copies that all came from the same source, both lick em stick em and adhesives and non of the others are like this.
I am open to all suggestions. So I will see if I can find some-one to give a definative opinion.
Who odd stamps turn up now and then.

Horam: If that is the case, then I (and perhaps those more senior in the hobby than I) would appreciate a closer look at the stamps.

Hi smauggie

it also seems to be on a different type of paper than the others. I will see if the local stamp club has any idea. I will also send pictures to a couple of stamp auction houses and see what they see. I will keep all posted.

Do you have a list of this stamp with all the different printers, types, booklet or sheet etc etc.
There are differences between the S/A's and the regular gummed you show above.
Maybe there is another ?
And is your example S/A or R/G / I cannot quite see.

It's just an opinion but I don't think this stamp when it was mint had a color missing. When you look at "Australia" and "50c" it doesn't look as dark as the other stamp. There is a slight difference that mean it's the whole stamp that is different not just the flower. I have no ideas how this stamp became pale but I think when it was mint it was like the others.

Hi Londonbus1 and timbres667
I do not have a list of all the different booklets etc, this one is a self adhesive. Also as stated, they all came from the same source. A packet of stamps from a charity shop. The shop apparently cuts all the stamps of the mail as it arrives and puts them in a box and one a months sorts them into packs of 50 for 50c, and it was in one of these packets and it had about twenty of this design but this was the only one different.
As stated the dealers do not think it has faded or been tampered with. It is still on the envelope piece and I keep it in a sealed box to prevent light damaging it. I am going to take it to the local philatelic club and see what they think. I am just as puzzled as everyone else. I would not be the first time that some-one has found a variety in a grab bag. I have examined it with a gemmological microscope and and I can not find any signs of tampering either. It is a real mystery. But I will keep all posted on what I find out.
Regards,
Horamakhet.
