BTW, that's as VFU as you're going to see on a 25R stamp!

Aha! India copied Orchha!

(Incidentally, and I hate to be a party-pooper, but are you quite sure about that cancellation? 25 Rupees would require a pretty hefty parcel, with insurance and registration and all the bells and whistles. Hard to see it receiving just a glancing blow from the CDS like that. Was the seller of unblemished reputation? I remember being rapped sharply across the knuckles once for questioning some similarly cancelled Indian high values on offer by Him Who Cannot Be Named.)

I think I'm going to go delete all the photobucket images I have showing on that site and see if I can't draw another warning

After stating I was leaving this is what I did. I didn't want his forum benefiting from my images so I blocked access.
As stated in their terms this does invoke his fury and gets you a 'lifetime' ban so was petty but well worth it.
Being technically inept though, he banned my IP address which is dynamic so as soon as I logged out and back in again was bypassed

I did and I havn't been back since.

Same here, though I had already found SCF, and what a contrast that provided.

If the mint value wasn't 5 times used, I would care. Assuming no-one would deface a stamp to make it less valuable, I'll call it VFU and not call for you to be sanctioned!

Jubilee, given the beautiful whiteness of your copy, my guess is someone has scrubbed down a mint copy with the horrible toning you often find on these (and which makes them unsaleable) and salvaged some value by turning it into a VFU. I've seen similar side-swipe CDSs on high values of the Convention States, where used are worth at least 5x mint. There's a dealer in the UK, who sells on ebay as creativityplus4, who has an endless supply of this sort of stuff.

I better get the rubber stamp out and dirty it up a bit then!

Thanks for the good info.

As I said, my search for a reasonably priced mint copy has been slow, so this will fill that gap nicely. As for the seller, he was in the US, so not the same culprit.

That 25R is a beauty. If it was mine, I'd thank my lucky stars that it escaped the usual whacking that befell so many of its brothers, and happily tuck it away. (I would spend almost no time wondering why I was lucky enough to find the prettiest used 25R left on the planet. I would chalk it up to clean living...)

Nice stamp.

I am also a member of the board some here have had some problems with, and can only say that I enjoy myself there, as I hope I will enjoy myself here. Have also bought from the administrator there, and he was in my case extremely service minded. I can't say which board is the best or have the best community feel since I haven't been here long enough, maybe I'll get back to that when I have spent some more time here. :)
