As mentioned in a previous post, I have come across a number of packets of precancels for which dateds were included (and not the common Sears or M. Ward types).

Here are a half dozen from both Philadelphia and Harrisburg areas. Any information on what companies may be represented here would be appreciated, as I am trying to mount these stamps into an album with the correct designations.

Thanks.

Looks to me like (1) ANC Nov '42; (2) G B H Feb '40; (3) S. Co. Mar '41:

Looks to me like (1) R. Co. Dec '39; (2) GBC Jul' 41; (3) WFH Oct '41

I do know that WFH is W.F.Hall - a printing company headquartered in Chicago with branches across the country.

The 1st stamp is unknown, not listed if it is an "AMC" or "ANC", but could be an "AHC" which would be A. Hartung Co., but it is listed only in 1941 with a C4 overprint.

2nd stamp is Guckes Brothers & Hall used from 1939-42, listed as a C3. This Co. also use "GB&H" from 1948-51/53-54 with a C4.

3rd stamp is Schofield Co. from 1941 listed as a C13, also used "S.Co." from 1938-40 with a C3.

4th stamp is from Rytex Co, dealing with stationary products.
However here the lists only 1940-42 using "R. CO." or "R. Co." in 1941-42 both versions listed using a C3.

5th stamp is from Graybar Electric Co. and is a common overprint, for Harrisburg it is listed only in 1940 as a C3. So this 1941 is new find.

6TH stamp is a Printed Date precancel & is not listed in the Handbook I'm using.
I do have the needed guide but not with me!

Great info.! Thanks. Always enjoyable to uncover a "new find" (as in the GBC Jul'41).

The 6th stamp is Printed Date precancel type WFH-1 used only that month, Oct, 41.
This was used by W.F. Hall who would use this type of precancel in 49 different cities. Value $3.00

Thank you once again for this additional and very useful info.

As it relates to the Harrisburg precancels previously discussed, here are a few more that I found which:

(1) Documents R.CO. use in Jul '39 and Jan '40;
(2) Documents GBC use in Sep '41 (and on a 2-cent pair); and
(3) Documents another WFH-1 (Oct '41) although a bit more smeared than than the previous example I posted.

I guess I'll have to keep looking for more of these varieties.

Another dated find -- this time from Philadelphia -- any ideas as to company? Looks to be JJP Feb '41:
