At first I was going to chalk this up to being a Sears dated precancel from Jan '56 (but now I'm not so sure):



I can see what looks to be an "R C" in the second stamp and the high value of this dated pair certainly looks interesting, but I can't see an "S" for Sears. Is is just a poor print job or could it be another company?

This is a printed dated precancel type SRC-8 with a catalog value of 10 cents. It is indeed SRC - used from March '55 thru June '62. Poor printing eliminated the "S".

Thanks. It's in line with what I originally had thought, but questioned it because of the poor printing that eliminated the "S".
