Thinking about purchasing this #678 Neb overprint. I'm always worried about purchasing fakes. Everything looks good, but the "r".
What do you'll think?

The sure ways to tell are

1. Get a scan of the back of the Stamp, Starting in the 1920s gum breakers were added to the gum of mint sheets to stop the sheets from curling after production. Gum breaker ridges appear as horizontal ridges across the gum of mint stamps. The 1929 Kans./Nebr. issues are perforated 11x10 1/2 and have only 1 gum breaker ridge! The issue can only have two if there is one at the extreme top of the perforations and one at the extreme bottom of the perforations. The 1926-1934 perforated 11x10 1/2 regular issues have two gum breakers ridges .

2. It must be perf 11 x 10˝

As pointed out by stallzer the stamp MUST have the Type II gum breaker which is horizontal bars spaced at 22mm and 14 vertical gum ridges.

Below is a certified copy

Edit: Added 678 image

Thanks much! The scan really helped me understand what the gum breaker is you described.
